About Me

I have over 20 years experience working in a variety of social and health care settings including Exeter Community Initiative's Children's Centres, The Quiet Minds Centre, Exmouth, Devon Carers - Counselling for Carers, and further from home: Mother Theresa's Missionaries of Charity, Calcutta as well as some charity consultancy in Cape Town.

I have done a lot of work with relationships, particularly young people and families - including 4 years management of a multi-award winning youth project in Scotland. I worked for 2 years with the Young Offenders Team in Dorset in family intervention work.

I worked full time for The NHS, West of England Gender Identity Clinic, as a specialist counsellor, for 3 years and I have also provided professional training in coping with self harm, sexual health and relationship education, anger management and suicide intervention for the NHS in Scotland.

I have a passion for working with self-esteem and confidence and believe strongly in reaching outcomes desired by my clients using the therapeutic relationship.

I have a Masters of Arts (hons 2.1) in English Literature and Psychology from The University of Glasgow and an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling from The Iron Mill Institute, Exeter. I am also a member of The British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.

I welcome any new clients, and any questions. Please do ask anything else you would wish to know. Details on contacts page.
