About Me

I have experience working in a variety of settings including Exeter Community Initiative's Children's Centres, The Quiet Minds Centre, Exmouth, Devon Carers - Counselling for Carers, and further from home: Mother Theresa's Missionaries of Charity, Calcutta as well as some charity consultancy in Cape Town.

My current work is split between private clients and working for the NHS as a specialist counsellor.

I have done a lot of work with relationships, particularly young people and families - including 4 years management of a multi-award winning youth project in Scotland. I worked for 2 years with the Young Offenders Team in Dorset in family intervention work and have also provided professional training in coping with self harm, sexual health and relationship education, anger management and suicide intervention for the NHS in Scotland.

I have a passion for working with self-esteem and confidence and believe strongly in reaching outcomes desired by my clients using the therapeutic relationship.

I have a Masters of Arts (hons 2.1) in English Literature and Psychology from The University of Glasgow and an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling from The Iron Mill Institute, Exeter. I am also a member of The British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and belong to the British Association of Gender Identity Specialists.

I welcome any new clients, and any questions. Please do ask anything else you would wish to know. Details on contacts page.
